Foursomes is a golf competition format in which a team is comprised of two golfers, and those two golfers alternate hitting the same golf ball. Player A tees off, player B hits the second shot, player A hits the third shot, player B hits the fourth shot, and so on until the ball is holed. The two golfers on a side also alternate hitting tee shots so that the same player doesn't hit every drive therefore Player A will hit the tee shot on odd numbered holes and Player B will hit the tee shot on even numbered holes.

The SdM Foursomes Knockout is played under matchplay rules with the higher-handicapped side receiving shots equivalent to 50-percent of the difference in combined  sloped course handicap with the lower handicapped side play off scratch.

For example: "Side A-B with a combined Course Handicap of 15 competes against side C-D with a combined Course Handicap of 36. The higher handicapped side, C-D, receives 11 strokes (36 - 15 = 21 x 50% = 10.5 rounded to 11). All strokes are taken as assigned on the men’s stroke index

The competition is to be played off the white tees for men and red tees for ladies.

Please note if you chose to hit a second tee shot (for example when a players hits a tee shot out of bounds) the next shot by your partner must played from the same tee as the original ball.

Because of the limited time scale to play this competition and the potential for bad weather please arrange to play your games as soon as possible
