Our latest training ride started at Penina Golf Course. It's a favourite starting place for the regular riders so we thought we'd tag onto the end of the peleton. In excess of 25 riders started and our intrepin band, Ray Groves, Warren Tennant, Steve Edwards and pro cyclist Don Forrester duly joined the group. Within 400 metres a gap had formed. Don and Ray cycling into the distance, whilst team members Steve and Warren cycled together. Sadly, and not surprisingly, Ray got spat out the back of the pack.
When we met for coffee Warren and Don looked at each other "where's Ray" was the question.
So without worrying we all had coffee. Eventually we found him in the car park.
The ride was slightly longer and a little more lumpy. All concerned can feel an improvement of fitness. This week marks the arrival of Warren's brand new bike. Watch this space.
