On Sunday 6th July 24 members of SdM had a day out.   Everyone caught the train which left Lagos at 9 am at various stations en route to Faro.  At Faro we were met by a coach which transported us to the quayside at Olhao.    After coffee and comfort break we boarded two boats which transported us around all the various islands in the Ria Formosa finally stopping at the fishermans island for lunch.   The weather was disappointing as it was the worst day we have had on the Algarve for some weeks - no rain but very windy and choppy seas !!!!   The coach was there to take us back to Faro on our arrival back at the quayside in Olhao and our train was in the station for our return home.   Everyone was in good spirits and we entertained the train passengers and a bemused ticket collector with a variety of songs due mainly to our supply of wines in our picnic baskets.  All in all a very enjoyable day.
