Pinta Clubhouse was again our venue for the Annual Christmas Party. Another fantastic turnout with fine Christmas Fayre and music followed by some lively dancing!
As is customary the out going Captain Ray Groves spent time thanking all those members who have worked hard to make his year a successful and enjoyable one. Without doubt SdM is a better club now than ever before and it continues to improve. Ray announced he had raise over €1600 for his choosen charity Madrugarda and presented Robert Magaw with a checque.
Well done to all the winners of this year's Christmas Hamper Competition. The full results can be seen below.
The second round of the 2015/16 Fermon Trophy was played at Gramacho on Monday 7th December. The good conditions and the forward placement of a number of the Men’s tee boxes meant the scoring in general was extremely good. The day did not start off well for SdM as Gwynne Jones had to withdraw at late notice but fortunately Captain Ray Groves agreed to step into the breach and following a shuffle of some of the pairings the team went about their business.

The Past Captains Trophy was contested for recently with 5 past Captains. Mark Ellerton, George Cook, Steve Edwards, Geoff Cox and Gary Edwards, and this years incumeant Ray Groves.
The run away winner Gary Edwards was presented with the Trophy at the evening dinner at O Barradas Restaurant in Silves. His 35 points was by far the best score with Steve Edwards coming a distant second. Remaining scores will remain private.
