Look at my new best friend!! I am looking forward to many hours in the saddle ( I think !!)

Our latest training ride started at Penina Golf Course. It's a favourite starting place for the regular riders so we thought we'd tag onto the end of the peleton. In excess of 25 riders started and our intrepin band, Ray Groves, Warren Tennant, Steve Edwards and pro cyclist Don Forrester duly joined the group. Within 400 metres a gap had formed. Don and Ray cycling into the distance, whilst team members Steve and Warren cycled together. Sadly, and not surprisingly, Ray got spat out the back of the pack.
When we met for coffee Warren and Don looked at each other "where's Ray" was the question.
Not put off by previous saddle sores the riders set off again on Sunday. This time a few "lumps" were incorporated. Starting in Luz we were led by Warren into some beautiful cycle landscapes. The hills were not too bad, especially for the likes of regular cyclist Don and Jill Edwards who joined us.
Although this route was slightly shorter in was more challenging but we all felt some improvement in our fitness and techniques. On Wednesday we will start our ride form Penina Golf Course. There are plenty of spaces for those who wish to join us.

Five of our members embarked on the first training ride for the Silves Senior Cyclists Charity Bike Ride for next spring. The route was fairly easy, a gentle introduction into harder days to come!
The intrepid five: Warren Tennant, Ray Groves, Gary Edwards, Steve Edwards and the pro Don Forrester. We willneed to be recruiting more volunteers from our membership so please feel free to contact Warren and join the band.
